Default Tiger in Black and white

I thought of sharing a Black and white image.

A wild tigress wakes up from sleep due to the sound of an approaching deer in Bandhavgarh National Park, India.

    Canon EOS 1D Mark II, Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM, EF 2xII, ISO 400, f5.6, 1/1000

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

I like the look of the B&W and it is obvious that the lion is looking at something that caught its attention but I am not sure that is enough here. Was there anyway to include the deer - in a stitched pano perhaps? After making the image of the lion, locking focus, panning left and getting a frame of the deer and stitching later could have work IF the deer was visible. Just a thought.

Very nice Sabyasachi. Like the intent implied. Can feel the tension in this. As Robert feels, be nice if there was another element to this.

RJ, I am thinking that this image shows a tiger not a lion.... :) ;) :)

I like the B&W rendering and do not mind the simplicity. The big problem is that the top of the head, which is for the most part in the shadow of the ears, merges with the dark shadows of the distant forest....

Like Robert I would also like to see what he is looking at, he is obviously looking very intensely but not seeing at what keeps me in suspense.

I understand Artie's comment about the ears and BG merge. Would never have thought that myself. Otherwise, your image conveys immense tension Sabyasachi. I quite like it despite no ewye contact with me. :)
