I was particularly drawn to the appearance of the water, but needed something to put it in context, for which purpose the cormorant seemed quite suitable!
Canon 30D, 70-200 f/2.8 + 1.4 TC at 280mm

Hi Stephen The water did come out well I like it The cormi would need some fill light It is just taste but for this image would love to see the cormi with detail

Did not mentioned the compensation but probably had to be minus for the water which will make the bird dark (as shown)

For presenting the image as is I would try palcing the bird more into a corner I like the idea and you did succeed with the water !!!!!

Lovely water it is. Alfred nailed the idea with his suggestion of placing the bird in a corner. It would make it a lot stronger.
