Default Magpie-lark coming in to perch

While the perch is not visible, I captured the male (white eyebrow) coming into the perch. A big crop sadly, about 50% of original. Not sure what you think. Thanks for any feedback.

Awesome eye contact and wing position. The eye is sharp but a little more SS would have helped (I would have pushed the ISO a bit and opened up to f/7.1. A little more + EC would have opened up the blacks more. Nice image overall!

The pose is perfect and also IMO it is the HA, exposure looks good but I would try to desaturate a little the blues on the birds edges.

Great eye contact and pose compensates the loss of some quality after the large crop.
That is some interesting bird. I envy you guys on the collection you have down there:)

Akos, love the spread look on this and you did good considering the light that was against you. Very interesting looking species. Congrats.

Great angle of flight, and love the full wingspread. I would maybe darken the BG a tad. Still, well captured mate.

I tried a BIF shot of the same species a few days ago and it ended in the bin! I like the eye contact but think I would have set ev +1.3 as has already been suggested. Not only the white eyebrow but the black face and throat distinguish it as a male.

    Thanks Stu and Colin.

Colin, appreciate the extra info, never knew that. Me, being simple, I just look for the eyebrow. But happy to learn about these critters all the time. Thanks again mate. :)

Great Image Akos and nice to see the bird not simply called a "Mudlark" which denigrates a most interesting bird.

I have a mating pair in my garden at present and I found by putting a mirror outdoors they go ape and perform some interesting movements in front of it.

I can't find anything to complain about it is just fine for me.

Super flight angle, the light that was against you but still well captured.

    THank you Chris and James.

For everyone's info, the light was in fact coming from over my right shoulder, though from the side. I was not shooting into the sun. :)

    And thank YOU Ilija! :)
