While in Ireland I came to the conclusion to late that it was a great oppertunity to try for silhouette flightshots. I just tried a couple of times figuring I would be back to try for some more of these cool shots. This is the best one that I ended up with after a short while of shooting.

I guess some of the plumage looks a little worn out but after studying a couple of similar shots I realised this is what they look like when landing, appart from the tail of course. Tell me what you think.

I like it, the fact that there's a little detail showing makes it work for me, the centered comp looks good and pose is really funny. Congratulations!

Love the colour in the background, the pose and the fact you can still make out the white lines on the bill. Great stuff!

I like it, a beautiful silhouette. Highlighted bill outline is a nice effect.

I especially like that the body and face are not completely black.

Awesome pose Krijn. Love the BG too. I'd love to see the bird totally black. If you know what I mean. Thanks for sharing.

    It all works for me.
Silhouetted feather detail, color temperature, silhouette intensity and symmetry all adds up to a winner in my book!
