No always the lower angle is the better, some tiems is goot to get a tad higer to avoid any horizon lines, etc, I have to say that in this would've been the ideal case to do that as to avoid the four-toned BG although it doesn't really looks bad at all. I like the light, comp, pose, exposure, detail and colors. I would tone down a bit the OOF FG.
Congratulaitons!
Nice... I like the angle, the bird is sufficiently sharp and the details clear that is stands out well from the BG. Soft light. I agree with Ramon about the foreground, that's one of the problems about shooting low.
I think the lower the better as well although this is easy to say but often hard to do.
Anyway, this is very nice Gal. First, it's very good to see this species. The lighting of this image is what stands out for me- so soft and warm. And did I say I liked the low angle?!
I honestly don't mind the BG colors at all. The bird is perfectly posed, lit is razor sharp and everything falls nicely into place. Well seen and executed. :)
