Winter visitors to our part of the world, very shy subjects to deal it. Had to really spend time around this beauty to get a little close. finally paid off. wished I could move more to the right, but knew it would take of so stayed put.

Spectacular, colors, detail on the bird are superb,
great stare look, BG is excellent. You could try vertical crop on this one too IMO.
    Congrats!

How often do you see a good capture of the bird, and yet we get two in a week! Where else could this happen.
    Kiran
A great capture of a bird that I know only too well does not sit still for long and as you point out flies at the sightest movement

Apart from having too much space at right, I'm really liking this image. Did you have time to take some verticals in-camera?

I like it horizontal, as presented. The tail and perch are almost at the same angle, which I also like. Can't get a better HA IMO. Terrific work, Kiran!

Beautiful image - great capturing the face straight on! I would keep it as a horizontal - the vertical would end up too square if you cropped from this image.
    Thanks for sharing.

Nice one again, Kiran. Nice bird, colors, pose and perch. I'd also like to see a vertical shot...do you have any? Congratulations.

Brilliant eye contact, and the light, detail and colours in this are simply outstanding Kiran. I feel a vertical comp would improve this even more. Well captured.

I think the re post works, definitely a stunning image. Love the dorsal view and the over the shoulder head turn. Details and colors are great and couldn't ask for a better BG. Hope to some day visit India for all the beautiful raptors and great spicy food. Congrats.

Superb image Kiran, terrific clarity and sharpness, the head turn couldn´t be better and I just love that intense stare. Great BG by the way.

The repost works very nice but I would suggest a different option for composition. You can keep the landscape format but croping to place the bird more at the left upper corner. I love empty spaces in images like this one. Very good job and what a cute species!
