Gray day, but one of my young orioles finally gave me a
pretty good pose.

Sharpness and details look good to me. Good pose as you've pointed out. I personally would like to see more separation between the bird - from the belly up - and the branch though. Not sure if I would leave so much space on the right, too, if this photo were mine. Congrats on getting the shot you wanted !
Don,
Very nice capture of a cooperative and colorful subject. Good idea to remove a few distracting elements but the re-worked areas are not "seamless" to the trained eye.
I like the pose, angle, eye contact and perch and agree regarding cropping a bit off the right to get the bird out of the center.
Nice light, great perch, nice BG and pose, the bird is too centered IMO and I wonder what a vertical comp would've looked like.
Congratulaitons!
My thoughts exactly.Nice light, great perch, nice BG and pose, the bird is too centered IMO and I wonder what a vertical comp would've looked like
Changed the crop, smoothed the PS work. removed one more leaf
I prefer the rework with the smoother background.
