    Hi Folks,
I hope you are all enjoying the summer. Here is a new one of my favorite bird. He has returned to Neck Point Park here in Nanaimo. So far he is the only one that I have seen. Last year at this time there was a family of four in the park.

Stats: Canon 50D, Aperture Priority, 500mm (Had to take off the 1.4x - too close!), 1/20 sec, at F/8, ISO 320, +.7 EC.

    Thanks for your comments,

    Steve

Very nice specia and detail, lovely comp, and although BG is very bussy it works, probably to tone it down would help. And I would also suggest warming up the whole image a bit. Congratulations.

Sharpness, pose and angle look good. I would tone down the highlights more. I wouldn't mind having such a cooperative bird around here.

Good looking bird and great suggestion to darken the highlights. The bird itself could also use some darkening, thanks for sharing him :)

Very nice Steve, you must of had a pretty sturdy tripod to get this sharp at 1/20! Love that stare and the colors are great. I agree with critiques already made. Congrats

    Steve,

Great shot and love the detail. I agree w/techs already mentioned. To add, I'd do a selective saturation boost on the eyes and make that yellow pop a little better.

    Hi Everyone,
Here is the re-post with a slightly more subdued background and the eyes enhanced with added saturation. Hope this is better.

    Thanks,

    Steve
