I think I probably should have brightened the squirrel up a small bit, and the DOF may have been slightly too shallow.

Nice sharp ears and I like the sqirts color,not blue:-) the mouth is moving so maybe a bit more shutter speed and the green bits on the left?

Kurt the sharpest point as Nonda pointed out is behind the eye (about at the base of the ears)
Any areas that appear not as sharp I'm sure will have to do with the slow shutter speed and camera shake Remember that your 400 becomes a 640 with the crop factor
Lighten the image just a bit and used PhotoKit capture sharpening then slight selective sharpening with the PhotKit brushes Finally just a tad of smart sharpening
Thankee Alfred! I was sure it could use a bit of lightening up, but have never used Photokit. I did do some Smart Sharpening in CS3, but you made it look 100% better :) Was on a tripod, using a remote shutter release, at the time so all the softness around the mouth was most likely from him chewing sunflower seeds. I normally go real light on CS3 sharpening cause it is soooo easy to make it look over-sharpened. Will check out the Photokit package though!
