Canon 20D, shutter priority, 1/200 @ f/5.6, ISO 200, 70-300 + 2x ext., flash fill with Beamer. It could be the same fledgling as in my previous submission, and with similar distractions, but at least the distractions are behind the bird rather than in front of it.
It was in mixed shade and sunlight and wind was blowing the limbs about. I had to wait for a lull to catch it at all. There was no waiting for a head turn. I was lucky to keep the bird in the frame. Then it flew to another limb deeply buried in the tree. Bird photography sometimes seems as much luck as skill. Maybe more.
