Not the quality I'd like, still large crop, but managed to get this guy out of the grass:)
Unfortunately I can't get closer to the reeds, they are nesting area...
    Work in progress:o

Comments and critique, especially on composition, very much welcome!

I would try a pano crop just to see how it ends up looking like.
I do like comp and although light was harsh it works for me, the bird seems a tad soft on my monitor, a little more slective USM on the bird and NR on the BG might help this image.
    Congratulations.

With the upright reed stems, I would be tempted to try for a vertical crop. Nice setting and the idea is great. I agree with Ramon re extra sharpening and some NR. Thanks for sharing and keep at it! :)

It's always great to see this species and I like the inclusion of their habitat and might crop it as a vertical. Good luck with project sparrow. :)

This is a sparrow that I'd love to see so I appreciate any images posted. A vertical would be nice with all the grass but I might actually even like one not cropped as close to give an even more feel of the habitat. Well done on a beautiful image.

Thank you my friends, I appreciate your comments.
I will post vertical crops as most of you suggested.
