    Default Tangled oystercatcher-update!

Well, we had the right person for the job. My friend Jimmy G took his 15 year old nephew to Nickerson, and youth prevailed, he caught the bird who is on his way to the rehabber even as I type this. One toe off the best foot is missing and the other one looks pretty bad, we'll keep you posted on what the rehabber's assessment is.

Great news! At least that will give it a fighting chance for survival. How did the boy catch the oystercatcher?

I'm so glad the bird is getting help now. I hope he is going to make it and will keep his foot.

Daniel, Basically, he chased him down. Just put his hand on the bird until Jimmy got there and scooped him up.

Just heard from the guys that the rehabber is going to give the bird antibiotics and painkillers. Will assess and have an idea in a couple of days if it can be released. I'll certainly pass along any information that we get. Thanks for being sharing this, been tough to witness.

Good news, at least for now. Thanks for the update. The best course of action had been taken. Assessment and care may take care of the rest. Good luck.

So glad to hear that the bird is going to receive much needed care. How funny but the first person I would have thought to contact about the bird was Jimmy G.......perfect choice.....and as I always tell him "You da man!!!" Thanks for the info and let us know if money is needed....I'm in!

Hi Grace: I am soo relieved to hear the news that the OC we have all been so worried about is in good hands. Please let me know if there is a way to contribute monetarily to help with the rehabilitation.

Thank you for your compassion and persistence! Marina

Jimmy saw him in the morning... His Nephew has quick hands. Hope the little guy makes it.
