    Default House Wren

Taken yesterday, this wren would sometimes land on a cedar fence post before flying to the box with food. This is a natural setting with a wild flower vine called Vetch that surrounded the old fence. C&C appreciated.

Spectacular image with amazing compositional balance and a killer prey item. If you are saying what you seem to be saying (that the flower was in this position originally) then the image is even more amazing.

I agree with Artie's comment here, great comp and scene. Perfect pose, nice light, BG, prey in bill is such a nice plus, all is A+ and I would only suggest to get rid of the chatchlight in the center of the eye.
    Congratulations!

    As mentioned, beautiful image!
Great composition and behavior in the same image.

IMO some selective sharpening on the perch would make this an even stronger image.
In lower light, it's tough to get the DOF you want and still have enough shutter speed for tack sharp images.

Yes the flower was natural, and the bird contiually came to this post before flying to the box. I only had to wait for it to face the flower to compose the shot.

Thanks for your comments, they are always appreciated and a great way to better my photography.

Love the composition here. The perch I feel is just a bit overpowering, not too big in the frame but I feel just a bit too bright. I would tone the perch down, and would therefor let the rest of the image come through a bit better.

Except for the few white spots on the perch just to the right of the flower, the perch looks great too me and not too bright. It would be easy to tone them down with a Select Color Range and Linear Burn.

Great image. Another vote here to tone down the perch a tad. Tonal wise, the perch and the bird's throat are competing for my eye's attention... but of course my eye does eventually go back to the hungry little bird. Comp elements all work together very well here. Great work!
