    Default Collared pratincoles (Glareola pratincola)

Hi to everyone This is one of my favourite photographs from the past year. I like the action here, the low angle and the nice light instead of the fact that this species is one of the most I like. This pair of collared pratincoles were performing a broken wing display to drive my attention away from the nesting site. This is a common behavioural response of ground nesting birds (plovers, nightjars, partridges...) as a defensive measure against mammalian nest predators. In this case the potential predators is the photographer. Here both parents are feigning a wing injury to lure me and make believe to me that they are easy preys. Obviously, I walked following them (to avoid nest disturbance) and after a while their injury disappeared and they fly away. I hope you will enjoy this picture and feel free to made comments and critics

I'm not surprised this is one of your favorites. Great angle, interaction, details and complementing BG. I might crop a bit off the bottom and clone out the OOF blade of grass below the rump of the bird on the left.

I like it also for the same reasons mentioned above. The one thing that bothers me is the position of the near-wing of the bird on the left. Ideally it would have been low to the ground exposing the dorsal surface. In any case, it is lovely. I really like the BKGR colors.

Love the low angle, the action, the colours. I agree about the OOF branch in the lower left. It drew my eye away from your fabulous subjects.

A typical pratincole behavioral shot. Feel the atmosphere of the scene as I have seen it also.
Love the bg and the nice DOF.
