Captured this image last week in Yellowstone during a prretty heavy snow. We found 3 fine bull elk out feeding during the storm. I'm mid thigh deep in snow as this bull elk approached me.

I like the composition and the exposure looks good. It is amazing how they can survive in these conditions. Nice sharp image!

Nice looking composition Robert. I like the falling snow. At first I was going to say crop some off the top but looking at it again, I like how you can see the snow flakes in the bushes above the elk. +1 compensation on the exposure was just right.

I love it. Looks like he is really having a tough time with that deep snow. Were you?

Wonderful composition! I especially like the snow flakes - both on the elk and the falling snow.

This is a great head-on image Robert. Although he looks as if he was struggling in the deep snow too did you have any concerns about being able to get out of his way if he took an interest in you?

I really wasn't all that close and by this time of the year the bulls testosterone level are very low again and they're quite passive. They just save all the energy they can to survive the wnter. I'm very careful this time of the year not to cause them to nove unless they want to.
