The ranger at shark valley said these guys were the David Bowie of the avian world at this time of year. I have to agree. Made on an early slightly overcast (great diffuse light!) morning at Shark Valley, ENP.1DMKIIN 400 DO 2xtc ISO 1250 F11@1/125

Very nice composition, David. It has a strong magenta cast.
I used the white point in curves and went +15 to Greens (away from magenta) in Color Balance.

    Subtle, but effective.

Really neat image. I really like all the colors and patterns shown here.

I think the focus is on the feathers in the foreground rather than on the eye.

Just for giggles, I'd be tempted to boost the saturation in the purple feathers a little even if it isn't natural.

Great pose, BG and composition and the repost looks closer to reality. I'd love to see this species sometime.

As always, thanks for the comments and help!!!! I may have caused the cast by adding an additional saturation to Blue. Wont do that again!!!

I was sure it was in post-processing or the wrong White Balance :)
If you wanted to increase the lore color, select that area, then do the deed :)

Thanks again, Fabs!!! I'll have to learn to selectively choose areas when doing such adjustments.

Just hit the Q key which invokes the Quick Mask. Select the areas you want with a Black Brush. If you make a mistake, use a White Brush to erase. When done, hit Q again to select. Then do a CTRL + Shift + I to invert the selection.

    Hope this helps.
