Thread: CS3 will not save as jpg

    Default CS3 will not save as jpg

    i am having problems saveing files as jpgs in CS3. when i open a file in photoshop and go to save it. CS3 will not give me an option to save my file as a jpeg. am i missing something???

    You also have to make sure it is converted to 8 bit.

    I'm sure it's a 16 bit file.

    you have to use file, save for web & devices, I have never seen an option to do save as to .jpg, silly as it is :)

    If you convert the file to 8 bit, and it's flat, you will have more options in save as...

    cool thanks for the tip, never knew that

    is there any benefit of doing that over just picking the save to web option?

    Save for web strips the exif data.

    You can download the jpeg 2000 reader/writer from adobe (I don't remember how I did it; photoshop help might help), and then you can save 16-bit files in jpeg 2000 format.

    ah did not know that either, I rarely use it directly I am opening it up through lightroom, using lightroom to convert to .jpg
