    Christopher:

It is nice to see one in a different environment, not just the sand. The issue with that is however, that it is a very visually busy area, and really draws your attention to all the edges, contrasts, forms and away from your subject. Your bird itself is sharp, well exposed. HA a bit less than optimal, a few more degrees our way would be nice.

I might try several things. Generally I like the small chick, big environment theme, but here the environment is so overwhelming, that I might try a pretty severe crop to eliminate a lot of it. You can also try to tone down the background and foreground a bit, so there is less to pull your eye, but I am not sure that can be done in a convincing fashion.

    Thanks for sharing.

Here is one quick pass at toning down the background, with original crop.

I actually like the idea, the color contrast/difference puts the subject up-front
and creates the effect that I think you had in mind (little guy lost in the world)
I wish the focused rock on the left was not there or was blurred.
Agree fully with Randy on toning down the BG.
Also a better HA would've been nice.
Overall, however, very interesting image, I like it.

I agree with Randy about toning down the Bg but prefer the original composition with a lot of room to show the habitat. Very cute chick!

I really like the OP, as the chick is so tiny and the enviroment so overwhelming, that's exactly why I like it, the contrast between the little fragil chick and the hard cold stones all arround him. Nice comp, detail, light and colors, a tad better HA would've been nice but it still works as presented nicely. Congratulations.

I actually like the orig. crop.. Makes the point of the small chick in a big world.
    Nice capture and nice comp.
