    Default Dancin' in the Rain

This is a composit of Jazi (White Rhino born 20081209) dancing in the rain.

We were at Lion Country Safari today during a major thunder storm. Prior to the storm it was 100 degrees there. Most of the animals were under whatever shade they could find. Then a heavy thunderstorm came in and dumped a couple of inches of rain. The animals just stood there while it rained, some continued to eat the grass, others were motionless. When we got to the area where the largest herd of Rhinos were located, we found Jazi dancing in the rain, hopping along and having a great time. She did it a couple of times, including jumping in and out of one of the small detension ponds. Quite a site to see a Rhino dancing and enjoying life to the fullest. ;)

These images were shot in succession.

You can see by the image that shot through the car window, the heavy rain.

After the storm, the temp was 74 degrees, until the sun came out again.

    Thought you might enjoy.

Gus & Akos, it was weird in a way to watch it. She was dancing around like a little girl (human) playing in the rain. Kind of reminded me of the Hippos in Disney's "Fantasia"!

If I would have the 5DII, instead of my 5D, I could have done a video which would have really told the story.

It is fun going to LCS as there is always a new story to view. Never a dull visit. :D

Cool series, she seems to enjoy herself, I can't blame her in this kind of weather. :)

Definately hot down here Axel. But the 26 degree drop after the storm felt great! Wish I could have joined her, but mama probably would not have approved!
