The Australian kestrel is a frequent visitor to the nest when feeding young chicks. In a three hour session I counted 62 visits delivering food!!
I wanted to include the oval nest hollow in the composition which put the kestrel almost in the centre.

Canon EOS 5, Canon 100-300 F5.6L, Fuji RDP 100, Natural light and fill-flash, 1/200 F9, Hide atop 18 foot tower, tripod.

    Hi John,

What a lovely image, it blows me away how these guys are so gentle with the strong beak. You did well including the tree and the pose is good too. I also like the fill flash which brings a lot of details out.

Good flash work and moment captured. The poor chick is not exactly pleasant to look at but it adds to it. I might add a bit space at the top.

Looks like the light was a bit harsh. Great job with flash. I would sharpen a little more...
