Took this in Richmond Park UK, south west of London. Early morning type of shot. 1/100 F5.6. ISO 200. Canon 5D. 500 IS F4 on a monopod, my preferred choice for deer stalking due to its mobility.

    David,
Lovely feel to the image.I like the composition and the background colours. I agree with Peter that the image is stronger due to the eyes being visible. I like the out of focus foreground layer at the bottom. Thanks for sharing.

I saw the thumbnail and thought to myself 'Richmond Park?' lol. I'm quite local to both that and Bushy and have had some great success with the deer there. I really like this, a classic shot done very nicely here. Agree with the others about the eyes!

A very atmospheric image - you really captured a sense of environment. On an initial glance the foreground bothered me but after further consideration would not play with it, I think it would take away a sense of place.

Stunning as presented, I lie the light, the pose and the surroundings you included. Way to go!

Nicely framed David, and Im glad you exposed to show enough detail on the deer. Great eye contact, and love the autumn colours in the BG.

Like the way you have created a frame using the dark banding on the top and OOF at the bottom frame. Wish the deer was in sharp focus.

Wow, what an interesting and creative photo. Well framed and I really like the highlighted colorful background.

I really like the light and the color of the foilage. The only thing distracting my eye if the OOF vegetation in the foreground. But that is pretty minor.
