wow, makes me want to try macro!
    very sharp!
I might crop off a lot of the bright white petals to focus on the fly more. and would clone out that little J blur between the legs. great HA! very nice image!

    Hi Harold,

My first reaction was to the excellent sharpness and composition. I'm sure there will be some suggestions as to cropping differently. The BG is nice; I think this is a great shot! I love it!

I'm far from an expert, by any means, but I thought that the whites and yellows looked overexposed, so I checked the histogram, and it shows all three channels have many overexposed pixels, and the blue channel with underexposed pixels. This shot is so good, that if it were me, I would go back to my raw converter and pay very close attention to bringing the tonalities closer to the center of the histogram. I believe I have this correct, but if I don't, someone please let me know. Oh yeah, there's a little junk to clone out under the fly, too.

This is an image I wish I had taken!! Really nice...

Great comments !!! Fully agree !!!

I like the crop and surrounding flowers, help fill out the bg !!! Fly position is good and normally best to fit environmentally !!! Extreme full frame close ups require perfect light !!! Like it a lot Harold Will be going after them soon !!! :)

Good discussion. For me, one additional thing that really works well in this composition is the total color palette is very nice; i.e., all the colors in the image complement each other.
    Very, very nice.
