    Default Vulture & Raven

A curious thing about Giant's castle is that the Cape vultures get chased around by these much smaller whitenecked ravens. 50D, 1/2500, ISO 400, f4.

Neat! The background is terrific. A little better wing position would be nice but, hey, they don't always give you what you want do they? You did a good job with the things you control.

Great behavioural capture and good exposure with what looks like bright mid-morning light.
These Giant's Castle backgrounds have always impressed me ever since Chris first started posting on BPN.

    Stephen:

Agree about the wing position, a little more bank on each bird would have been even better, but the image tells the story well.

    Thanks for sharing.

A great moment captured. Looks like the raven's about to take a chunk out of a tail feather, or it's a tanker set to refuel a fighter. Great work!

Very nice action here. Where I live it's whiteneck's cousin the crow that usually ends up ruining all my chances with different birds of prey. They are pretty ruthless. Congrats.

Great interacyion, sharpness, detail, light, exppsure and terrific BG, if the Crow's wing position was better this would be over the top to me.
    Congratulations!

Very cool image. The size difference is well presented here. Two nice species in front of a lovely bg.
I find the shoulders of the vulture hot a bit. Otherwise nice.

I like how the banking angle of the vulture follows the lines in the BG. These ravens obviously think they are fearless against their larger neighbours. Great interaction captured here Stephen, and a place I need to get to.

Excellent capture Stephen. I have seen similar behavior from our local "magpies
" and Ravens, chasing larger raptors. Your vulture must be ticked off ok. :)

I have seen a lost of stunnig images from the Giant´s Castle in the past months but this one is specially interesting to me. Just love it. The white naped raven is a fantastic especies and you captured very well the textures of his plumage. This is a very difficult image to expose, almost black in the raven and very intense light producing very bright whites. I agree with Szimi taht the shoulders of the vulture looks a bit bright but, man, you did a superb job with th eexposure here. Love the eye contact of the vulture, the matching wing positions of both birds and the fact that the raven is looking at his huge companion. Just a terrific and dynamic image Stephen. Very well done!

This really tells a story, wonderful image.
The upper vulture wing is a bit too bright on my monitor.
