I think that the HAP may be onto you, but I think this rocks Dave. Very nice to see the tip of the flowers as well and the space into which the bird is looking. :) I think exp, sharpness and all came together and you got a winner.

I like this one way better than the previous one you've posted. The pose is better IMO and sharpness on the bird is great, BG is nice but I wish it could be more colorfull. Congratulations!

Yes Dave this is much better for my taste, good colors captured here and that head is sharp, the pose of the SB could make for a couple of good comps...congrats

Very nice and clean image. Love the sharpness on head and the gorgeous colors on head and neck.

Love this David. Agree is way better than earlier post. Comp and pose also make for some other crops too, so has come together very well. Got a winner!

Much better than the others you posted!! A better head turn would put this over the top, but man the less cluttered perch, unclipped flower, and unobstructed BG are elements I was looking for in the previous postings of yours. Much cleaner (and stronger) presentation :-)

    Dave,

You balanced the ambient light and FF very well. Good DOF, too. Great work!

Super colors here and lovely perch. HA could be better but still not bad at all. Are these guys at all related to humming birds? Congrats

By not cutting off the aloes at the top, your comp works so well. Lovely side pose, showing off the belly nicely, and I like the iridescence on the neck. Well captured Dave.

Very good Dave! You did very well to capture this little guy sharp at that shutter speed. I selectively bring down the highlights slightly on the aloe flowers, I think it would give it more punch. But still a really great image!
