I like the morning light, setting and raised crest. I might tone down the whites a bit more, sharpen the bird more and remove the bright spot on the bill.

Adding to Axel's comments you could also apply some NR to the bg, and eliminate some of the OOF stuff near the legs and near left edge. Raised cresst look nice.

My first thought was the magenta too. I would also remove the white speck on the bill as it (to me) adds nothing. Your repost is heaps better though Dave. Love this image. Thanks for sharing. :)
