Lots of possibilities here With have tried going for the flower wide open to blur the rest Some of the bg elements are lost with merges and nothing really strong to focus your eyes. Will wait for Gus our flower expert to see what he things !!!
Do like the bg, sharpness and texture !!! Very fine image !!!
Hi Desmond,
I see what you were trying to do...the elements of the background are under exposed, your main yellow flower is out of focus, and I would have preferred a different capture angle, maybe by moving more to the right to place more attention on the main subject. The stem and the surrounding buds look a bit washed out, and lacking details and contrast. Would recommend for your next one to get a tad closer not too much and look for the most pleasing capture angle...also you can increase the ISO factor to 400 or even a 640, and you can pick up the shutter speed from 60, 125, and even 250...aperture should be wide open start from an f/5.6; f/7 or an f/9. I would also do this type of floral cluster with the sundry elements on a vertical format...looking forward to your next one...keep on practicing, and compose with both eyes open, walking around your subject to acquire the best compositional angle...looking forward to your next one...
I would try taking this picture in vertical format and also I'd add something to make the background lighter like a white of light blue T-shirt. beacuse the background looks too dark and it could improve the contrast between the flower and the background. Anyway I like as you have take it.
