One of this year's crop of Snowies gives the new wings a try. Shot at a local park which is full of surprises... :) The nest is just out of frame on the lower right.

I think the good thing about this image is the bird is so different from the background that you cannot miss it.

Sharp birds and good details. The pose is not bad but I personally think it would be better with the wings fully spread. That should cover up some more of the backgrounds. Or perhaps a bit cropping from the sides, too? :D:D

Desmond, I'm sorry but I don't see the point of your repost. It looks like all you did was re-size the image. Am I missing something?

HI Kerry - cute youngster - I quite like the pose. Exposure looks good with the whites all in check - might add a touch of sharpening to the eye. Maybe crop some from the RHS.
    Good show :)

    Hey Kerry,
I like this little guy...I like it as presented, love the raised wing position, you have a good head angle and good eye contact. Keep them coming...

    Hi Kerry

Can't imagine a more difficult image than a white chick at a rookery !!! Did well with the exposure and capturing a behavior. I like the slightly tighter crop by Desmond Does give enough room but focuses on the bird well !!! I like that you made the image wide open to minimize the bg !!!

Kerry, I love the pose and the detail you got on the wing really shows the young plumage. Nicely done!!

    Hi Kerry,
Given the circumstances of the bird's local environment, I can't see what you could have done better. The exposure looks great, it's looking right at you, it's sharp, a great pose; to my taste all I would do would be to crop a little off the right. Nice shot!

Hey Desmond, no trouble at all sir! I was just confused because it looked like the image had been just scaled down as opposed to cropped. Here is a version with a little taken off the right side and a bit from the left as you and others suggested. I'm always open to others reposting my images, so don't worry about it a bit! :)

Kerry, I love the semi open wings...a baby exploring his boundaries and soon ready for big adventure. The flight feathers gorged with blood give a lovely contrast. Are his legs green? Personally, I like your original post uncropped from the RHS.

I am with Jenny Wren on this one, Kerry. By gosh that kid is cute. And so purposeful. I love the lighting and the pose.
