    Default Nanday Parakeet

The Nanday Parakeet (Nandayus nenday) is endemic to the Pantanal region. They travel is noisy groups searching for varied fruits and is one of the very few psittacids with black plumaging.

Beautiful bird and good behavior captured, I also like exposure control and eye contact. The BG is a bit busy but I don't find it too distracting. I only wish for a lower angle.

Great bird, thanks for the interesting facts about it.
The BG is bit busy but you did great job with the crop,
just about perfectly placed for a long tailed bird and posture.
Wish lower angle but OK as is too.
Is the tree Cecropia? Those are very tall. Good work with the angle
    if that's the case:)

Thanks for the comments. Yes Ilija that's a cecropia tree, the bird was quite high indeed. The fruit is not from a cecropia though, they were getting the fruit from a nearby tree and only feeding at the cecropia.

A tad bussy BG but I love the light, pose, detail, colors, species and comp.
    Congratulations!

    Hi Octavio,
I find the BG a little busy but I realise that there's not much to be done about it. Beautiful bird and great behavioural image!
    Best,
    Nicki

Great behavioural image, and I like the evidence of food on his beak. This is sharp, and I like the colours. The BG is a bit busy.

In spite of the busy BG the subject manages to hold your attention. Not an easy task :-)) and you have done well. Like your composition.

These guys are beautiful, I remember seeing them in Buenos Aires where I think they are introduced. A fine capture, nice exposure
