    Default Sandhill Rush Hour

Seeing Chris Dodd's beautiful snow goose reminds me how much I miss the birds at the Bosque del Apache this time of year. This was my favorite crane image from last season.

Nice! Looks like everyone is trying to climb over everyone else to get to a spot. I like the complimentary colors in the BG and that the birds are all in focus.

Great moment captured. Love the crop on the left. The lead bird's eye seems soft but I feel it should be the main focal point.

AND THE WINNER IS.... Looks like this guys were in a race. Very good work getting them all in focus. Colors and BG are wonderful.Maybe you could selectively sharpen the first ones eye. Very nice.

I can see why this could be your favourite. It has so much good stuff to look at. A very engaging scene in gorgeous light.

Hi David: This picture is extremely unique and artistic. It's nice to see something from Bosque which is totally different. If I had one wish it would be that the bottom bird's head were not angled away.

What time of day did you make this capture?

    Congratulations, Marina

Thanks for your comments. I'll get that eye a bit sharper.

Hi Marina - This was a morning flyout taken at one of the crane pools north of the railroad tracks (Jan. 9, 2009, 8:22am).

Chaos reigns. All in perfect focus, and just love the light and colours. Great image David.

I like the composition, crowded air space and BG and only wish they were flying towards you.
