You did a nice job on the whites. I think a lower angle would have been better and I would clean up the water a bit. Maybe sharpen the eye more.

    Hi Arash,

Nice exposure - the whites look good to me, and I like the cool white contrast against the dark blue of the water. The suggestion often made on the forum is unless the reflection is near perfect, better to loose it. So if you will excuse me, I have modified your image to how I like it.

I straightened the egret with 1 degree CW, then cropped away most of the reflection - I think I left enough for virtual feet. I cropped a bit tighter on the tail of the bird and added a good half inch of background on the left side. This extra space then put the eye of the egret at about the intersection of the 3x3 grid in the top left. Also did a small amount of spot healing on the background water. I did these things in CS4, but you should be able to do all thins also in LR2, I think.

This works better for me now. Does it work for you?

    Best,

    Gerald

gerald nailed it for me. the reflection was not that strong, so i would have opted for a lower angle. you did really well with the exposure. whites look great.

Thanks guys, looks very good Gerald, thanks for putting the time to edit the photo. Do you think a bit more room around the bird might be better?

Another vote for Gerald Nailed !!!!

Sure wish the image was made as a horizontal, always keep in the the suggestion about week reflections !!! Sure would have been nice seeing the complete water circles around the bird !!!! btw great exposure and love those whites !!!!
