    Default Blue Grouse

Image made in early August at Glacier Point in Yosemite using my Canon Rebel XT and 28-135 IS lens at 135mm.

1/200 sec at f/5.6; ISO 200; EC -1/3; No Flash

The background looks a bit busy to me but its what I had to work with.

Lovely feather detail and focus - looks a little bright on my monitor - big step on the right of the histogram. The background is really distracting from the bird as you mentioned - against a darker background this would be great - maybe a little more space in front of the bird.

I agree with Tony the background lets the image of an incredible looking bird down, I may also have been tempted to darken the wood of the perch.

Against a dark, clean background this would have been a winner.
