This is a juvi of a Sooty Thrush (formerly known as Sooty Robin). Endemic to CR and western Panama.

Image made with the following equipment:

    Canon 30D
    Canon 35-350@350
    AV
    Hand held
    Pop up flash
    f/6.3
    1/100sec.
    ISO 400
    Exp. Comp. +0,7
    PS
    Fairly large crop
I have Firefox 3, with Firefox 3.5 the same image looks too flat.

I like the rain drops, the textures pose and detail, nice light and exposure, I wish the bird was a little lower but with what you had, you managed to get a very nice image.
    Congratulations.

Good-looking specimen that I'm not familiar with, the rain adds to the mood. I also wish for a lower angle and would tone down the highlights on chest and legs. I'm using FF 3.5 and it doesn't look flat on my monitor.

I like the alert pose and the perch. The raindrops are good too, particularly the ones that have been deflected by the tail.

Very nice Juan, I also like the rain drops. How wet did you get?:D I also vote for toning down the chest and legs.

... the title reminds to me a song by Supertramp ;-)

It doesn´t looks flat on my monitor JC (both in Explorer and in Firefox). The shooting angle is a bit step but I love the rainy mood with the blurred raindrops and the nice BG. You did a very, very good job with the fill flash man. The pose of the bird is very nice. I would try to tone down the eye catch just a bit :-)

The rain looks like shooting stars. I like the pose and detail on him, together with the inquisitive stare. Great BG too.

I like the pose. It reminds me of our Varied Thrush.

Like the deflecting drops at the rear myself. Wish for a touch more DOF. But you were already at 100th of a sec, so without a tripod you are compromising too much. A lower angle would have been fantastic with just a fraction more head turn. I still like it amigo. Thanks for sharing. :)

Great mood and a very nice looking bird.
    Wish for a better angle
