I often take my camera to work in summer. Luckily, this day I took a detour on the way home and found a pair of adults with two young chicks. Being precocial, these guys walk and feed automatically from the moment of birth.

Used my car as hide, shot from the driver's side window, resting on the sill. 75% of original.

    30D, 300mm f/4L IS USM, EF 2x, manual focus, ISO400, f/11 at 1/60th. 430EX at -1 with beamer.

Awwww! Love those delicate downy feathers and all the dimension within them. Nice find while taking the long way home.

Cute little guy, good light and details. I only wish for a lower angle and less busy setting.

Hi Akos: The detail that you have here is simply over the top...as is the cute factor. I think if you have the space, I would give it a tad more room on esp the bottom b/c of the feet, but maybe just a tad all around. You must have had a huge grin on your face while you photographing this little guy. M

From the car getting a better angle to improve BG and ambient was not an option, I think you manage to get a nice image if this little guy. Lovley light and detail on the bird.
    Congratulations amigo.

super cute and stunning detail Akos! I would maybe tone down greens and yellow in BG as they seem overpowering compared to the bird?

Akos, are you getting soft on me! Your gonna have to replace your Dave Mustaine avatar with a Teddy Bear! Just kidding man, this is a wonderful image and I'm sure if opening the car door wouldn't of scared them off you would of been on your belly.:D Only thing I'd do is maybe try to clone out the blade of grass behind the beak.

Pin sharp Akos, and love the furry detail. Great HA, and obviously shooting from the car isnt the best angle. Still, thanks for sharing mate.
