    Hi,

Took this one in Lake Naivasha in Kenya, last May. I am not sure if this photo is good enough for my "This is Africa" BW project and would certainly would like your opinion.

    Regards,
    Jorge

Jorge, I like the image and the pose is quite special. I think a ROT composition would look a bit better IMO. I think the dark tone adds to the dramatic feel and I would retain that look. I might be tempted to lighten the top of the wing a bit. I might also tone down a few of the larger white spots in the front. IMO This is a very nice image!!!

Jorge, can you tell me why everything is so dark? Was it the time of day or the camera settings or heavy shade? I'd like to know your exif data and any post-processing that you did before I comment.

I do like the image - I think it has possibilities but I want to hear what's been done to it first.

Hi Jorge, Agree with many of the above comments especially getting rid of some of the foreground white spots. IMO the subject needs some general brightening to add to the impact of the image. Interesting pose and subject!

I too would prefer the bird brighter, but keep the background as is to give more contrast / punch to the image.

Great idea and I love the B&W treatment! Some good suggestions made already. I cannot think of anything to add. Congrats. :)
