This image was taken less than 40 minutes after my previous post of Oxbow Bend. It's amazing the difference a bit of sun makes. I decided not to clone out the photographer, partly because I think he adds to the sense of vastness here and partially because of D. Robert Franz's comment about being there at the same time :-)
I have always wanted to go to the Oxbow area. It rocks. This has a wide open feel to it. And the color balance looks right on to me. Clouds, mountains and a lake. What more can you want.
A wonderful looking image. I scanned it before reading your text and noticed the person in it. That happens even with him so small because your eye is lead around the image the the BG shore line to the dark shoreline in the FG and there you find them. Nicely seen possibility. Well done.
Sharpness on the JPG is less then optimal however. You may want to revisit that part of the workflow for this image.
Thanks, Robert. As soon as I'm not a work I'll apply a bit more sharpening and repost. I was hesitant to sharpen too much and make all of the detail look oversharpened.
