Had nice overcast flat light. No need for flash.
    Critique appreciated.

I like the comp, light, textures, detal and mood on this one, I wisg for more profile HA and I would suggest working on the eye brightening the catchlight a little.
    Congratulations!

I like the comp here, good job with that. I although the head angle isn't bad I agree with Ramon for a bit less of a turn...the ideal would have been just enough for the bill tip to clear the plumage (I know, we can't always ask Nature to be so specific!!). I'm also thinking the goldfinch (especially the back) could go a tad darker. All around wonderful image, with a great BG to set off the package :-)

I like the bird, background and perch but, like Daniel, wish that the bill tip was clear of the plumage.

Nice and peaceful image. Love the pose and the head turn.
I think a bit more time would have been nice. The whole image looks to be soft on my screen.

Lovely image, I agree with Ramon and Daniel here. I love the perch. I know these guys don't stop for anyone, I still don't have a decent image of a goldfinch.

You got an awesome image here with the content and colors and super BG. I would sharpen the bird a bit more too, thanks for sharing. :)

I like the soft light, perch and composition. The bird looks a bit soft, I'm not sure whether it is due to a large crop or if you could sharpen more.

Fantastic perch Ilija, and well exposed on the yellows. Super BG, and I would maybe sharpen the head.

Thank you everyone, I'm glad you like the comp,

Yes it is soft, now I agree.
Axel, this is a quite large crop ~25% on a D80, but it might be that I have motion blur.
Szimi is that what you meant by more time? I couldn't stop since I was at full aperture.

The tiff looked way oversharpened but the jpeg smoothed the image quite a lot.
Here's a repost at the point when I started to develop halo.
Stuart, I selectively extra sharpened the head too.
    Does it work?

Ramon, I brightened the eye too.

    Thanks again. I appreciate it...:)

Do you know what type of plant the perch is? It certainly makes a very interesting composition. Nice timing, catching him, fluffing those feathers..makes him look like he has eaten more than his share. lol Lovely image.

I don't know the name of the plant. It is common weed, I see it in meadows a lot.
