Beautiful bird Ramon. Nice perch, head turn, sharpness, and BG. I think you could darken the blacks on the head a bit and still keep the detail. The eye looks a little bright too. Take my comments with a grain of salt as I've never seen one of these in person.

Very beautiful bird and capture, super bg, and great perch. Maybe a bit more room on the left would have been nice. Looks like a dust bunny lower left corner.

Steve, I didn't do anything to the eye, but I'll give the balcks a try and see how they look.
Art, yes, you're right about the dust bunny... I missed it.

Perfection! Very nice image, great exposure of the orange, I believe this
situation of orange/black combo is more difficult even than white/black.
HA, eye perfect, the perch in fantastic with the cup-shaped lichen.
I like the way you positioned the bird LUH. This is really great bird,
I'm almost glad it is invading the tropics;)
    Congrats!

PS Missed the dust bunny :)

Nice one Ramon - I like it a lot!
Good job on adding canvas to the RHS. Not sure how you would've extended that ornate perch - impressive!

Graham, I just used the other side of the perch, if you look closely, in both sides close to the edges of the image, there is the same lichen :o

Hi Ramon, what a lovely presentation. That orange body is a knock-out! I am looking forward to you showing me these beautiful birds next year.

As beautiful as it gets. If you get another chance, and the bird is reasonably still, try getting an additional image with the focus on the tail and blend them later. I see by the shutter speed you couldn't afford any more DOF.
Two focal points may be the way to go.

Fabs, this guy doesn't stay still much, but I'll give that try, but the next time I'll try to locate the perch further away from the BG so I can use a better f/ without compromising the BG.
Remember I did this multiple focal points with a Dove a while ago?

Yeap, that's right, but the bird really need to stay still :p, anyway, it is a fun thing to do and it can result in very nice images IMO.

Hi Ramon, the colours on this guy are simply amazing, and you have exposed them very well, especially the blacks on the head. Super pose, and pin sharp. I would maybe tone down the highlights on the perch.

Wow, this is awesome amigo. :) I really love that perch man. The BG is killer too and the bird? Well, that is naturally the highlight. I find the visual of having the perch's RHS finish, but just being near the edge a little distracting. I would crop so the perch is cut. You know what I mean? Just a thought. Thanks for sharing.

excellent Shot my friend.. RHS + right hand side.

My suggestion would be more room up top, and less on the bottom, but the image is really very good., eye eye is captivating.

Awesome Ramón. Lovely settings and pose. I find the head a bit gray. Should it be darker, shouldn't be?

    Hi Ramon,
That is one beautiful bird! You know me and the crop tool....so I may go with equal space on the bottom as the top.........but that is my preference....very nicely composed.

Very interesting perch and bird Ramon. Love the BG and head angle here. There are some dust bunnies on the bottom of the image. And I wish there would be more details on the tail. A fine image any ways.

You give me hope that I don't need to upgrade my 300 f/4!
