    Default Osprey Florida March 2009

Hi everyone, this is my first photo post here on this forum.

I took this shot while on a recent trip to Florida back in March 2009.

I was shooting off a pontoon boat with my D300 and 500Vr lens, handheld.
aperture is F4 and the shutter speed in 1/2000 sec

there are some great photographers on this forum and i look forward to viewing and posting more photos

    best wishes

    Colin

Hi Colin and welcome to BPN. :)

Like this pose very much. I feel the ULC is a touch tight and am not sure whether the green below adds or takes away from the image itself. Would be good to hear more feedback from other folks. Colors appear good as is exposure and it is sharp as a tack.
Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to more images from your FL trip. :)

    Nice first post, Colin.

Great action captured here. Exposure and sharpness look good to me. A bit more room on the left (and perhaps also the right) would make a good image even better, IMHO.

Welcome to BPN, Colin! Very nice first post, I like the pose, light and details and would put the bird a tad further to the right in the frame. Keep them coming!

thanks Guys much appreciated, ive been messing about with the composition on this one for a while.

i think you might be right that it needs a little more room around it. I've tried it without the green at the bottom but i do think this adds to the photo in my opinion.

    thanks again

    best wishes

    Colin

    Hi Colin,
Great action shot. I would have remove the branch in lower left corner but other than that: nice !

    Colin:

Welcome to BPN. It is a great place to learn and enjoy the beauty of our feathered friends.

I like the overall image, but would like a bit more room on the left. I like the green, adds sense of place without detracting from the bird, IMHO. I can see the point about the stick, LLC, but personally probably wouldn't remove.

    Cheers

    Randy

Hey Colin, welcome to BPN! A strong first image you present us here. I agree with the requests for more room at left. Excellent pose, the outstretched wings and talons are nice! Good concentration on the part of the Osprey. Hoping to see more from you :-)

Stunning pose! Lovely light, exposure, detail and perch, a little more room might help IMO.
    Congratulations!
