Captured this image @ the Everett marina a few nights ago where blue herons are not commonly seen. Canon 40D ISO 400 aperture priority .

I like the colors and mood and would give it more room at the bottom.

Very nice photo Phil I would be interested in knowing what the camera settings were. I also wonder if there is not a bit too much red in the photo. Nice and sharp and I like the composition. Dave

Hi Phil: Your colors here are spectacular. If you have more space at the bottom, I think I may try adding some at the bottom and taking a bit off of the top b/c it may balance the picture a little better...or even more at the bottom and nothing off the top. You may wish to experiment a bit...or maybe you already have.

Thank you for sharing this lovely image. Marina

Hi Phil, I like want you've created here, more room at the bottom would've been just perfect. Here's a repost, hope you don't mind, with some crop and also more contrast.

Appreciate your feedback and kind words. I wish I did have more space at the bottom, would have to clone a similar area in order to do so. What I really want to avoid is giving this image an artificial timber, so if I did create more bottom I would need to be careful not to ruin the integrity of the image.

:) I don't mind at all, in fact I am flattered you took the time. Not sure if I would use additional contrast as it removes some of the more subtle gradations in the sky however I do like it. I agree with all of you, it does need more bottom. Will have to fiddle with photoshop to see what I can conjure up.

    All the best

    Phil
