    Took this in June just north of Big Sur in California where there is a cordoned off beach for the elephant seals. This guy is pretty battered up. I found out that these are males and they do fight for territory on the beach.

    Jackie,
    I like the eye contact in this image. A lower angle would have been great and that would have ensured that less of the fellow lying besides it is visible. Ofcourse, I have no idea how the background was.

    I would have loved a vertical in this case. I am intrigued by the pink colour of their mouth. Look forward to more of these giants.
