This Great Egret flipped and dipped this fish for about fifteen minutes before finally swallowing it. I know.....Head Angle...but he just wouldn't cooperate. This was at Ding Darling today. I used my Sony A100 and a Sigma 50-500 lense. Data=f/10, 1/2000, 0ev, ISO 400, 500mm. Thanks for looking. John

    Hey John, HA - bah!!

In this case you have captured natural activity rather that a pose - let 'em complain about HA - you got the image!

John, Always nice to get a bird with a fish, I wish it were a bit sharper. I'm seeing a large halo around the bird.

I see it here now also. Didn't see it before I posted. I'm not sure why it happened.

That's quite a meal it caught there! HA mentioned by yourself...I'm not familiar with DD but would you have been able to sneak further to your left to align yourself with the subject's HA? ALso needs CCW rotation. Another question - did you use S/H tool? The mentioned dark halo above the head/shoulders/back is a possible indicative of an agressive use of that tool...

I wish the bird was angled more towards you, there's also a very notorious halo arround the head and back of the bird. Nice exposure, comp, natural moment and light.
    Congratulations.

Neat capture -- I agree with the comments above although the head angle doesn't bother me. Looks like he caught some type of sculpin.
