    Default American Avocet

American Avocet at Bosque Del Apache.
    Canon 40d, 100-400 @ 400mm, 1/800s @ f/7.1, ISO 400.

I really love the elegance and grace of these birds and this is an attempt to capture that.

    Critiques welcome!

Very nice, I love the pose and reflection. Only wish there were more detail in the blacks.

Wonderful colors and textures in the BG, super reflection, only would wish for a slight CCW turn in the HA. This nicely portrays the grace of these elegant birds.

Interesting pose, good sharpness and light. I agree regarding some CW rotation and am wondering if a lower angle would have made it stronger since the surface of the water is not even.

I fixed your post, you had 3 links to the image which prevents the forum software from creating a thumbnail.

I like the angled feeding posture, with good colours, and sharpness. I agree regarding some CW rotation.

I only wish you could've gotten lower to improve BG, but other than I love the bird's pose, light, detail, colors and comp.
    Congratulations!

Agree with above, just wanted to mention that you've got really nice colors
on the water too. I like it.

Lovely shorebird and nice behavior pose captured. Good fuzzy reflections.
I still miss this species from my birding life list ;)
