I wish this sparrow were common here since it is so beautiful. I like the soft light, angle, eye contact and BG. The bird itself looks a bit soft on my monitor. Is this due to a relatively large crop or maybe motion blur?

Lovely light, BG, and exposure. As Axel mentioned, the face of the bird appears soft. It looks like this was caused by the focus point being below the wing.

I agree with the above comments...beautiful bird, exposure and BG (comp perhaps a bit too centred?), but the face appears a bit soft.

    Cheers!

Sparrow's do make great subjects, although a common bird here. I agree with the above that this is a bit soft. Pity.

Looks like your common sparrows look better than mine here:)

Softness seems to be an issue as mentioned. I personally would also enhance the colors just a tad.

Classic pose and bg. Feel the softness is in large due to the critical focus being on the rear as the near leg and feathers look crisper than the head.

I love thse little guys, the are so nice.
I would only suggest another round of USM. But other than that, I like it all, Perch, Light, Pose, detail, colors and BG.
    Congratulations!

Very nicely presented, JC, comp is good and so is the detail in the feathers. Another round of sharpening wouldn't hurt.

Thank you all guys for your input, much appreciated.
I have a little hard time when it comes to sharpening. I didn't wanted to put too much of it because I knew that the belly feathers might seen over sharpened, but I didn't pay enough attention to the rest of the body. The focus point is in the face. This is a 85% of original.
    What do you think now?
