From today. What I wouldn't have given for some nice billowy clouds but no, I get solid blue sky. I wouldn't even had shot but I was there so what the heck.

IR-converted Rebel XT, Canon 24-70 2.8 lens, handheld. (Michael, I have only used the 50 1.8 and the 24-70 with this camera to date and I haven't really noticed any dramatic difference due to the camera being calibrated to the 50 1.8. Can you see any?)

Great shot Ed. You may not have had the fluffy clouds, but I'm impressed that you managed this without any tourists milling about.

Ed, I like the high-key look to this. The slight gradient in the sky is nice. The details on the lighthouse look good. Nicely composed.

Lovely image, Ed. I also think the gradient sky is the next best thing to fluffy white clouds. Nicely done with lots of interesting shades of black to white.

Only suggestion I have is the small area right next to the door of the lighthouse - that little area directly below the tree limb to the right of the door feels "hot" compared to the rest of the tower. Any way to add some stone detail back into that little section?

Everything else is really working here...you're really coming into your own with this IR work!

Hi Ed, You picked the right image for an IR treatment. Nice sky gradient and well balanced comp!

Great angle on this lighthouse. I love the IR effect, perfect subject and perfect sky. Very nice!
