    I use this technique quite often. It is simple in PS, and I explained it in Denise's post with the Boardwalk.
    Duplicate layer, convert that layer using the Black and White filter, with a variation that maximizes contrast, apply the Find Edges filter, then use Soft Light as a merge mode. Before flattening the image, adjust the brightness of the bottom layer, it usually needs to be darkened somewhat.
    An image needs good edge definition in the first place, or lines will be too soft. regards~Bill

    Bill, Thankyou for taking the time to explain your workflow for this image. The tips you gave in my Boardwalk post were quite helpful. This is a very pleasing image and the effect looks subtle and lovely!!
