Superb timing and action Dave. Details are very good. Normally, i like to see room for the bird to fly into, but I think the splash is well strong enough to anchor attention. Works for me.
A well exposed and sharp picture, whites not blown out, and I agree that the placing of the bird and the splash in the water make for a very nice image. I am envious!

I have mixed feeling about the comp. But I like the splash, the great pose, detail and action here. Congratulations!
Dave, I like the inclusion of the complete splash. Agree w/ Ramon, I've got mixed feelings about the comp. Did you clone something in the UR side above wing? This is a great action shot and the details are really nice!!
I like the light, sharpness, look-back pose and splash. I agree that the upper right has some weird-looking patterns.
definitely one of your best WFD shots Stu! love the pose, splash and light in this. comp is fine for me, something different to show the splash.
Thanks to all for looking and for comments they are all appreciated.
No cloning done here as captured.
Morkel it is me not Stu.
okay egg on my face haha :o
sorry Dave - so used to Stu posting these I didn't even look at the name. my bad.
still a great shot sir! humble apologies...
I agree with that.I have mixed feeling about the comp. But I like the splash, the great pose, detail and action here. Congratulations!
Great timing Dave, and this is really sharp. I like the way the wings form as they take off, and good job on the whites on the face. Comp wise, I think you have wanted to show close up detail, so you have succeeded in that. The other way would have been to make him smaller and add space to the right. Both work for me.
Great comp colour and pose. WEll done
Thanks Morkel,Gal, Stu and Kobus for looking and for comments.
Super image Dave, good timing and very well exposed image - comp not too much of an issue for me
