    Default Pied-billed Grebe Chick

This image was created as a result of a tip from good friend Daniel Cadieux. He had heard that there were breeding Grebes on a pond very close to where we live. I headed out there late Thursday evening and was quite happy that the chicks were not shy. Canon 20D with 200 F/2.8L and 2X TC, 1/640 sec @ F/8.0, ISO 200, manually exposed. Cleaned up some minor debris in the water. C & C is most welcome.

Very nice Wayne. Lovely reflection, one of the better ones I have seen. I suggest you may want to take out the bottom catchlight. Lighting seems a bit harsh to me and not sure what you can do to tone it down for the small bird. Still very nice and well done. Dave

I like the detail, reflection and angle of the shot.
I think the eye could do with a bit of TLC.

I would suggest to remove one of the catchlights, nice pose, comp, and refextion. Congratulations.

I like the eye contact and calm water that made the reflection possible. I think it needs a tiny bit CW rotation.

    Beautiful reflection,
Quality is not at its best, is it a big crop?
