Ken, the bird is so - I am searching for the right word - that it looks like it is carved and colored from the same piece of wood as the perch. I think it is a wonderful capture. Good show.
    Cheers, Jay

    Ken:

    Lovely light, exposure,pose.

HA mentioned, and in a perfect world, a lower shooting angle would be nice.

    Thanks for sharing this beauty.

great shot. wonderful wing pose. A shooting position a little more to the right so that the bird would be 100% parallel to the sensor would have been nice but this is wonderful as it is.

Thanks to everyone, just to explain that we were on a drifting motor boat so I had little if any control of the angles.

Fine shot, all the more so from a boat. Nice one Ken.

Nice light and good sharpness - the angle is a bit steep for my liking.

Great species, great light, great pose, great perch and comp, too sad the angle didn't help, I agree with Chris.

Apart from the very low shooting angle, I like it.
    A beautiful bird.

    Loukie,
Sorry for the incorrect spelling of the old name, personally I never like to use the "revised" names.

    Chris/Ramon
Just out of interest would this have been better if taken from further away thereby making the upward angle shallower?
