Another attempt at getting the chick with the setting moon as the background.

    Nikon D3, 500mm lens 1.7 TC, ISO 2500, 1/2500 @ F6.7

    Suggestions and critiques appreciated.

The image is very soft in my monitor, perhaps due to a very high croping or due to overprocessing, buet it has no details. The pose of the bird and composition works for me. The bird and part of the perch (the one overlapping with te OOF moon) are more lighter than the part of the perch that it is not overlaping with the moon. Did you used a different processing job for both parts of the perch?

Interesting idea and I like it. Good questions already raised. Too bad the bird has turned the head as much as it has and hidden the bill profile. Nice vertical crop. Dave

I like the idea, pose and eye contact. It does look quite soft, is it a heavy crop or due to NR?

great idea but also put off by the softness. would also have liked the bird slightly more inside the moon's shape.

    A very cool idea,
I like it, although a bit soft.
