A shame about the leaf crossing the right leg, but still like the singing pose.
    Comments greatly appreciated!

great pose, action, and eye contact. You're right, the leaves crossing the body are a distraction, as well as the leaves matching so closely the color of the background. But you gotta love that eye!

Looks good Ed Don't mind that leaf so much Lots of good things to capture my attention.

From the tech side I might have stopped down a little more for dof !! Could tighten the crop from the left a bit since the leafs are cut already Do like the overall feel, fine image !!!

Love the BG - Compliments the bird nicely. Looks like there should be plenty of room to lighten the eye a tad and add a touch of sharpening to it as well.
Good HA - Nice pose - Exposure is good - Well done - like it.

    Thanks all!

Lance- My PP skills are VERY limited, but I just got Arties Digital Basics and I'm about to dive in!

Alfred- I guess you're right DOF wise, as the BG was so far away it wouldn't have been distracting @ say f/9 or 10. Love you and Fabs website :) Was the whale shot from Newfoundland taken from the cliff @ Cape St. Mary's? We're going ther in 2 weeks and are very excited! Know anywhere to find gray jays on the Avalon peninsula? I'm going to try to come visit the Sunshine State soon and maybe we can get together for some 1 on 1 instruction :)

Love the singing pose, the eye and the fine details in the blue feathers. Might try a tighter overall crop.

    Hi Ed:

Don't worry about the leaf, I find that it adds information about the enviroment where the birds are perched. the background is well blur and without distracting elements so the birds is the perfectly clear. I like the pose.

    Cheers,
